Yes here is one:
Kool - Aid slushies
Ingredients:
1 cup water
1 envelope Kool - Aid unsweetened soft drink mix
3/4 cups sugar
3 cups ice cubes
Places water, Kool - Aid mix, sugar, and 1 cup of ice cubes in blender. Blend on hight until smooth. Add additional 2 cups ice cubes. Blend until smooth. Serve cold.
Well, you could make simple syrups added with just about any fruit to make great slushies. Just remember before you start that a good, working Ice shaving machine should most definitely be in hand before starting any recipe. Any old cheap ice shaving machine will work, but keep in mind that the cheaper they are, the more likely that they won't last too long, however we bought a relatively cheap $20 one and it lasted us a good 2-3 years before it gave out, and it wasn't a dulled blade either, it was my younger sister who dropped and the motor gave out.
Anyway, to make a basic simple syrup, combine a mixture of 1 part water and 2 parts sugar (usually about half of this sugar is high fructose corn syrup for stability when it comes to my recipes, but you can change t if you want.)
Take a fruit (it's best NOT to use citrus fruits for this, sorry if you're an orange lover. I like to use watermelon) and puree it nice and smooth. Certain harder fruits you might want to cook first. To do this, I simply wrap the prepared (peeled and chopped) fruit and wrap in heavy duty aluminum foil and place in the broiler for about 5 min. Maybe more or less depending on your oven, you probably want to put something under it too, just in case it leaks, but try to keep the juice s with it, that's what has all the flavor.
Anyways, heat the syrup mixture just until boiling. Let simmer for about five more minutes and remove from heat. Let cool, but only slightly and sift your fruit mixture through a sieve into the syrup. mix thoroughly and let cool. Pour over shaved ice and enjoy!
