Applications for a prepaid phone? (Unlocked, T-Mobile)?

I currently own a razr.... the original razr. Gosh. Well, I'm planning to get a new cell phone, probably a Sony Ericsson k800i or c902. My family uses prepaid because there is no contract involved, hidden fees, etc. However, because of that I am normally only allowed to use crappy features. The c902 has an application that uses google maps to pin point approximately where you took a picture from via satelite. Also, with a better phone I could download free games right? So with a prepaid phone what kind of free stuff can I get? Will the google maps picture thing work on a prepaid?
