Is the REAL reason the mainstream media has a sudden interest in gun crimes...

...to help us? OR...? Gun crimes happen everyday, people usually don't hear about them because they happen in impoverished, gang infested areas where corporate media has less vested interests.

I think the increased publicity in shootings is reported to take away your 2nd amendment rights later on and soften people up for the fall of the economic system.
The 2nd amendment theory being more probable.

    Thoughts?

Been pondering lately on whether or not to buy a gun. (a teenaged friend of my daughter was just accidentally killed by his brother while they were cleaning hunting rifles). But BECAUSE of all the recent events, and that will make our government REALLY want to step up taking away our rights, I think I will be purchasing a gun. Thanks, Main Stream Media for making up my mind!

Gun crimes happen every day, but it's not every day that someone barricades a building and kills a dozen people he doesn't even know.

There was a lot of attention to the Virginia Tech shooting too, and it was similar in form--just that more people got killed.

The media will always report a mass slaughter like that, whenever and wherever it occurs. They always have. If they didn't report it, would the media be doing its duty to keep people informed?
