Gregg was right... It supply and demand.. the more we demand the more the companies will supply and the prices will drop. just like you can buy dvd player for like $30 now. when they first came out you were dropping a couple hundred... The same will happen with blu-ray.

Why does Blu-Ray need a competitor? Blu-Ray is just the new format. We went from vhs to dvd and now we are going from dvd to blu-ray. The prices are high now, just like every new technology. Look for them to drop this fall/winter for Christmas.
