In a newspaper profile, Michael Arrington's Techcrunch gets a hearty endorsement from David Cowan. "It's one of the first things I read every day," the Bessemer partner tells USA Today. "It's hard to describe the extent to which I rely on TechCrunch." That wouldn't be the same David Cowan who's rumored to be investing in Arrington's influential startup publicity machine, would it? Cowan, who's already supported one bipolar founder in his portfolio, has denied that he's leading a round in the moody tech maven's news site. And Arrington, boasting that Techcrunch makes $200,000 a month in revenues, says he doesn't need venture capital. But the tech publisher admits that offers are on the table, which he's evaluating. What's the betting that Techcrunch does take money, and that his Bessemer buddy is among the investors.</img>
