Can you play hd dvd on non hd dvd player or tv?

I don't have a hd dvd player or hd tv .

If i bought a hd dvd would it work on my normal player? Would i be able to view it? (The HD dvd is cheaper than normal dvd atm)

No you need a HD DVD player, you can play standard DVD's in a HD player but not the other way round.

In a word, no!! If you are in the UK, ASDA are selling HDMI DVD players at about £30, but you still need the HD TV to view them!
