My daughters ex-boyfriend is spreading a nasty rumor about her?

These kids are only 12 but he is telling all the neighborhood kids that he slept with her. She is very upset. What action should I take, if any? I am not sure that talking with this kids parents would do any good. They are the "my kid can do no wrong" type.

Well i would f said say something to the parents, heck still say something to his parents. If he is saying this stuff at school, go in and talk to the principle, counselor, etc. After you have tried every road possible. Take it to the authorities. Sounds like harassment to me. Maybe there is something that they can do. If they can't, then beat the living **it out of him! (LOL). but most improtantly let your daughter know that you believe her, and that you are on her side. That is most important.

If they are unlikely to listen then you should probably leave the parents out of it. You don't want it to turn into a huge fight that would probably leave your daughter even more embarrassed and upset. You should advise her to ignore the rumours, she knows that it's not true and so will her friends. The people who believe the lie are probably not the type she should be hanging around. At age 12 things like that usually blow over in a week or two so she should try and keep her reactions to a minimum and pretend it doesn't bother her. If it gets any worse maybe a teacher could help.
