Samsung rant return help me change my phone?

Ok, i have a samsung rant and im tired of it. It does lag and freeze some which i think is good grounds for returning it to get a new instinct. The rant does have alot of problems like mine but most are more severe, but the sprint people dont know how bad my phone is messing up. So can anyone help me in what i should do or say to get them to let me get a different phone and return the rant. I will pay for the instinct but im not gonna pay the full amount, i will pay what it would be if i got a new contract or an upgrade.
 
Either way just try to be persuasive and don't raise your voice.
Just go up to them and be like, " Sir or Mam, my phone has been giving me a lot of trouble, freezing its very slow. And the problem just keeps getting worse. Is their anyway i can change my phone
to a new one or a different phone and pay the difference?"

Just go up to a store and ask them. Or call CC

if its within the first thirty days then you can exchange it. but if its not then they will just send you another of the same phone. that is, if its still in warranty. if its not within the first thirty days you will have to pay for the instinct out right. they will not replace the rant with the instict, because they are not of comparable quality,
 
Take clear fingernail polish and paint the metal contacts on the phone where the battery goes (do not paint the battery) if your phone is under warranty, they will replace it DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE BETWEEN WHEN YOU REPORT IT AND GET A NEW ONE!!!
