when you read the " Nutrition Facts" on food, what does "amount per serving" mean?

like on the peanut butter cup, or cereal.
what does "amount per serving" mean??
so ok if it says 16g of fat on the peanut butter cup, it doesnt mean 16g of fat for the whole cup, but just for some, right?
    please explain it to me

but we dont eat peanut butter in a bowl or plate, so how can i calculate that???
hey person , do u mean like 20 pieces of chips ???

It means how much a serving is. Like, how much you would regularly eat out of the whole thing. For example, if you have a bag of chips, and it says Amount Per Serving: 20, That means you would regularly eat 20 chips. So the nutrition value would be for that 1 serving.

It means the amount you are supposed to eat like if it comes with 2 cups and the "amount per serving" is 1 Cup, that's how much calories, fat, sugars, etc. that 1 cup has

That's how much you put on your plate or bowl if you eat twice that much you have to double the grams of fat i.e. 16 + 16 = 32g
