Recording HD Channels with Magnavox DVD Recorder.?

Hello,

I tried recording a HDTV program using my Magnavox DVD Recorder and all I get is a black screen. Do I need some sort of converter? What am I doing wrong? Please help!

The problem is that most DVD recorders don't record HDTV. You need an HDTV downscaler but you'll find that it costs more than a combined HDTV receiver, DVD and downscaler in a single unit.

You can't record HD programs using a DVD recorder!

You can only record HD programs using a DVR (the one with the built-in hard disk)
