why aren't there any new episodes?

I heard something about a writers strike but I dont completely understand...

yea i dont either
but what i do know the writers strike is over and they r writing new episodes so just have some patience...

It's not that complicated. Writers were mad they weren't getting enough money. So they went on strike. They fussed and fussed. The media attacked the situation. Finally someone came up with a compromise and the strike was over (or, as it seems).
There will be new episodes soon.

ok this is what happend: the writers of all of the sitcoms and tv shows went on strike because they all thought that they werent getting paid enough money for their work. if there are no writers, you have no tv show, therefore shows like gossip girl are on re-runs right now because there havent been any writers to write new episodes!!! but as of yesturday, the writers strike is over, so be sure to look out for the new episodes of gossip girl!!
