iPod Touch won't sync with iTunes.... How to get it to sync?

Why dont you unplug the usb from the computer/laptop/mac and plug it in a different port!!

My brother bought me a Ipod touch from a friend and every time i plug it up to my laptop it shows it's charging but does not show the 'Devices' tab on my Itunes. But when i plugged it into my brothers computer it shows it fine. I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it if i Hadn't bought songs on Itunes and i can't figure out how to get those onto my ipod either. Help?

The proplem for me is that my ipod will not sync. It syncs but takes ages and ages at the end i cancell it... anyways when it says baking up ipod'' 1/3 it never goes to 2. so i X the little x on the side and than it says Ipod count not synce because it is disconnected...
