    2 things come to mind.

    1. Virus, spyware, malware, etc. hidding in your computer.
    2. Running low on virual memory.

    Suggested solutions:

    1. Run mcafee ondemand scan.
    2. Buy more memory.

    None of these may apply, but just some things that come to mind.
