How can i get to play avi/Divx videos on my ps3???

ive got a data disc and my ps3 cant support it,i looked online and it said Divx on Ps3 but cant find it-anyone know?????

make sure you upgraded you PS3 to the most recent firmware i am not sure but the PS3 is not able to support certain avi files for some reason but it is compatible with divx I haven't tried inserting any type of disc yet but the Ps3 is able to download divx files directly from stage 6 and joox if you don't know how this may help

choose a video then Edit the URL in your PS3 browser by pressing START.

URL displayed by browser:
http://www.stage6.com/PS3/video/1827927/PLAYSTATION%C2%AE3---Universe-of-Entertainment

To download this DivX file to your DivX-enabled PS3, you're going to have to edit the video as such:

http://video.stage6.com/1827927/.divx

That's it! Press START, and your PS3 will start downloading the DivX file directly to your hard drive. You can do this with any video on Stage6. All you have to do is follow this formula:
http://video.stage6.com/VIDEO-NUMBER/.divx

Any other information is unnecessary! This only takes a few seconds, and you'll have high quality DivX files any time you wish. hope this helped you
