Check the region code. The Nintendo DS works in any regen but the Wii does not. A phone is designed to work anywhere...like the DS it is a portable device used in traveling....Why wouldn't it work? So is Asian business men travel to the US or UK they can't make calls?

However...The Japanese cell phone is much more complicated than the ones made and sold in the US or UK. In fact OUR cellphones don't always work over there and some business men and tourists have to rent a cellphone for their stay. So make sure the phone you get in China is not a Japanese designed phone or it may not work.

The phone needs to have an option for English or it will be useless.
