yes u can.it comes with the standard av cables.i play on my crap tv that i got out the trash and it works perfect

It will play, but the pictures will be in Standard Definition (480P). A TV with full HD will produce 1080P which is nearly 2-3 times increase in resolution. A Blu-Ray on SD TV would just look like a normal DVD.

It definitely won't be as crystal clear as an HDTV. It will play fine, but you probably won't be able to tell a difference from a normal DVD. If you had an HDTV, you can tell a huge difference in video and sound.
