    Vista not booting up?

    My Acer Aspire (recently bought) is not booting up the vista os. It goes to a black screen with a white dash/underscore flashing on the bottom. I do not have a vista disc, so what can i do?????

    try re-pluging in hard drive, cd drive, etc cords

    If you recently purchased the PC, take it back where you bought it. It should be under warranty.

    try switching it off from the switch try restarting it 3-4 times if it still not works then u hav to install new windows

    The flashing dash usually means the hard drive is not connected or the hard drive is not set to boot in bios or the operating system is corrupt and needs to be re-installed or the hard drive is bad and needs to be changed. Good luck.

    if you dont wanna take it back...

    hold the power button untill it is off
    afterwards, reboot it and choose safe mode
    when you reboot it you will know what i am talking about

    then use the help manager to do a system restore
