This is realley simple. Dollars are in hundredths so a !5% sales tax is 5 cents a dollar. So five times ten is fifty. The answer is A. $0.50
I hope u get this In time add me too ur contacts if u have a lot of homework questions.

A+ guy

The tax is 0.50

You would pay $10.50 for the item - 10 for the item plus 0.50 for the tax, but the tax itself is 0.50

The tax is 0.50

You would pay $10.50 for the item - 10 for the item plus 0.50 for the tax, but the tax itself is 0.50

An easier way to get the answer for a percentage problem such as this (i.e. sales tax, 15% tip at restaurant, etc) is to take the total and multiply it by 1.(percentage).

So for your problem, $10 X 1.05 = $10.50
Or, if you're at a restaurant and your dinner total was $26.46 to find out the total payment (dinner cost, plus tip), you'd do $26.46 X 1.15 = $30.43

This is an easier way to find the TOTAL, not just the tax that would be added.
