if you put a '.' or '-' on your domain name to separate the words, will...

...this get picked up by search engines? Hi,

I am wondering if you were to separate the words in the domain name with a '.' (dot) or '-' (hyphen) , will this actually get picked by search engines like google?
My domain name is about 4 words long, is this a good or bad idea? As an example it will look like this word1-word2-word3-word4.com

    Any advice?

Choosing the perfect domain name is crucial to the survival of your website no matter what type of site you want to build.Using more than one "-" or "." is not good because making it difficult to spell, people will often mis-type your domain name and omit the hyphen or dot bringing your potential visitor straight to your rival who got the domain you wanted.Google really don’t like it, possibly because it seems less professional, trustworthy and dependable. The search engine giant has reduced the influence of exact keyword match domains in recent years anyway, but it never really took to the hyphen and even less so now.For getting a good domain name in terms of accessibility you need to follow some factors given below
    1.Domain name must be short.
2.Try to avoid too many '_' symbol in your domain name.
3.Get the domain name that related to your business or product or organization.
4.If you want to get the domain extension .com and that is not available means try to register the new domain with the other extension like .org,.info,.edu,etc.
After a choosing an available good domain name register it with a good domain registrar like Tucktail.com .
