It sounds like your engine is misfiring. And your check engine light is probably on also, right? If so take the car to auto zone for a free scan to determine the problem or visit an auto service facility, (not a quick lube place) and they can hook up a scanner to find the problem. They will give you an estimate on the repair cost. I'm guessing from your question that you are not mechanically inclined, but if you are start with checking or replacing your spark plugs and spark plug wires. That is the cheapest and easiest to fix. If that doesn't help, you need to take it in to a shop.
