Thread: Why do people blank out their license plates in pictures when selling a car or bike?

Whenever you see cars or bikes on ebay or craigslist you see people blanking out their license plates in pictures.

I know in this day of identity theft and stuff people are careful about everything but this doesn't seem to be secret as anyone driving in front of you or behind you or walking by your car in a parking lot can see your plates.

reguardless its easy for anyone who sees you on the road to see your plates, someone could just as easily write the number down and go home and research.

because walking around in a parking lot means nothing. When you are at home on the internet, you can start to investigate. Its called having the time.
