I was Driving my car last night. I was driving down a straight road going 55. and all of a sudden my head lights dimmed and my engine became non-responsive. it didn't rev high if hit the gas. as pulled to the side of the road it stalled. as i tried to start it again it just didn't roll over. but after trying to start it a couple times it didn't even try to start it was just a grinding sound coming from the engine. As i went to try and fix it today people were saying its the alternator. So I went to jump it, cause if it was the alternator it would get the power from the other car and as i connected it i tried to start my car and nothing, it just clicked at me. plus a month ago the belt broke with no alternator then i still drove pretty far. so if the car is getting electric power from another car, like i said I put jumper cables on the car. how is it the battery or alternator like everyone keep saying.
