I took my Nissan Altima '05 for Inspection yesterday. Today the "service engine soon" light turned on.

I don't know much about cars. some people told me to check my gas cap??

wel lis one of the many places to look so give it a good turn hear a few clicks.. could be you just need to have it serviced oil change fuel and air filer plugs coul dbe any of them meaning of service engine... check all your fluids first and check the cap.. and then it could have been something they touch at inspection open the hood and have a look.. this site can help you learn about what should be and what can be done at home and with repairs.. most cars work the same way so knowing about any one wil and can save you money even if your not doing the work keeps people honest when you know somethings
