You might have an infection. Infection with bacteria or an organism called trichomonas can give you a fishy odour and a thin watery grey discharge. If you have trichomonas it may also be a little frothy.
Your doctor can do a swab to find out what is causing it, but treatment is the same for both- an antibiotic called metronidazole, either as a tablet or a vaginal gel with applicator.
Bacterial vaginosis is not contagious, but trichomonas can be passed to sexual partners. If you have a sexual partner they should get treated too.
