Thread: Me and my sister just met. How could we build a stronger brother and sister bond?

I am 14 and she is 12. Whenever she is with her friend she is kinda mean but knows at the same time it is a joke. I asked her why she is like that and she said because I am her brother and it is her job. I want to know how we can build a stronger brother and sister bond, and how I can get her to stop being kinda mean?

Do alot of one on one time with them. Talk about your life story and compare notes. Learn from them and teach them your life's experience so far. Give it time and be patient. They will come around. I think right now its nerves and they just dont know how to act around you. Congratulations on finding your sister. That's great!

You're both very young and at an when teasing comes naturally. She is probably mean because she thinks that is the way she should be, if she has just met you then she may be wondering how to act and being mean might be easier than being nice. If you just show an interest and talk to her about things she likes, include her in things you're doing and be nice to her, hopefully she'll soon see you're a nice guy and start being a little kinder.
