We need a satellite phone, we are in a remote part of south dakota...?

there are buttes and rough terrain, no cell phone coverage out here, miles between locations, does anyone know of a satellite phone service, I contacted Verizon, they only provide for people going overseas and the deposit is expensive, $500.00?
