I sold my dvr after disconnecting my directv service. I did not include the access card. The man that purchased it says it's not getting a signal and he had a tech come out who says the tuner is bad. It was working perfectly when i unplugged it. The man says that he didn't purchase a access card yet. Will the receiver get a signal without the access card?
Yes i own the receiver. All of my equipment is legally mine

No.

Secondly, I doubt very much that you even owned the receiver and if so, it was illegal for you to sell something which you had only leased.

Directv may not sell this person an access card if they find out the receiver was in effect, stolen.

No, it needs the card. If you canceled the service why keep the card and not give it to him?
