I currently have a Comcast DVR w/ HD programming and am looking to replace the service with either DirecTV or Dish Network.

Both companies are offering special discounts for the first 12 months. Can anyone tell me which is less expensive?

I am looking for HD channels, a DVR, and the entire discovery network which is basically the lowest package that includes Animal Planet.

Are the contracts two years long for both companies?
