what causes a samsung LNT 4671 FX screen to have a 10cm-wide blue colored

transparent bar near right edge? what causes a samsung LNT 4671 FX screen to have a 10cm-wide blue colored transparent bar near right edge? I also notice some lighting-alike flash for 1 second sometimes. Any idea regarding the cause and its solution? I have speakers that are more than 60 cm away from the tv, so I don't think the speakers is the cause. Thanks.

The gated sync suppression technology in your cable box causes that. Solutions include, going digital, or satellite.
