Is there any way I can update my Samsung HD plasma to recognize my Maxtor...
...160GB external hard drive? It recognizes the stick kind of USB with my memory card from my phone(although it will only play mp3s and pictures.) I did read the user manual that came with the TV and they say that the USB port(on the model of TV I have,it's called Wiselink) won't recognize external hard drives but I was wondering if there's any way to update it?!? Alternatively,i could just hook it up to my PC where I'm using the TV as my monitor but I tried hooking up the hard drive and it's there in Device Manager-Disk Drives. I was also told that it would appear immediately when I would open My Computer and I could access the files but I can't!!!! I was using it attached to my Dish Network HD DVR and was hoping to find a way to access the files(programs) after I switched to DirecTV but they don't have that feature enabled on their HD DVRs(BOO!!!!!!!) So,what can I do? Even if my PC will recognize it will it have to re-format and I'll lose the data?
