I recently bought some items to sell on which were described as having "a slight foosty odour which does clear up after some airing". However, after much airing and even washing & tumble drying, the odour remains. The retailer will not return my money, saying that the goods are as described & they do not accept items which have been washed. The T&Cs on the website are as follows:
"We do not generally sell goods on a sale or return basis. However, if the product has been damaged in transit or is faulty, please contact us within 3 days of order receipt. When you receive your order, as per the EU Distance Selling Directive, you have up to 7 days to return the ordered products. The goods must be unused, unopened and in the same condition as they were originally despatched from us."

What are my rights & what should I do next to return the goods & claim back my money?
