connecting samsungd600e phone to samsung r60plus laptop?

I want to transfer photos from my phone to my laptop, I have installed the pc suite package which i got with the phone (it included a usb driver) and then linked phone to laptop with usb cable, it is not recognising connection,

anyone technically able out there willing to help?

any tips much appreciated
