Should i charge my samsung tab 2 7.0(p3100) for 10 hours?

I bought a brand new tab 2 yesterday and the guys told to charge it for 10 hrs prior to first use. However i didnt find anything like 10 hours in the manual. Is it really necessary? And can i do it in two shifts of 5 hrs each or should i do it continously for 10 hrs? And whats exactly the purpose of it? Thanks in advance...

Yes, first time you buy a new electronic device, it needs to be charged at least 10 hours depending on the device. But of course, since your using a mobile phone charge it for at least 13 house and the battery will last MUCH more longer.

Since the device has a Li-Ion battery, not a NiMH one - this is not really necessary. But since its new and youll be doing a lot of 'discovering' i suggest you do, else you'll feel as thought your battery is running out faster than it should!!
