Samsung TV Problem....help please?

My 23 inch flat screen HDTV from Samsung is awful....whenever I turn it it I can hear the sound...but the picture will not fully display...its as if the picture is as faint as can be...sometimes it flashes on or stays on for a period of time but then switches off...any suggestions???
