Does the Samsung LN-T5265F have a built in tuner, or do you need the hd receiver from direct tv, etc? I was hoping it was better than HD ready... thanks for the help!

It has a HD Tuner. It can pick up air channels like fox, nbc, cbs, abc, and other basic channels in HD. If u want like espn, discovery, movie channels, and other channels, in HD u have to pay ur tv company extra per month to get those. they will come to ur house give u a brand new box
