Is the samsung HDCP compliant? That could be the issue. I'm not sure, but the ps3 may use HDCP by default with HDMI output, even if it's not 1080p. I use a 1080i TV but it's HDCP compliant.

By "reversed" did you mean reset? As in, turned off the switch in the back for 5 seconds? If not, try it...

then try using component video, which definitely won't use HDCP.

IF you've tried tweaking all the display output options on the XMB, it's most likely a HDCP issue. You could try unchecking 1080i, though, if you haven't already
