Instant Messaging on the Samsung Behold charge as Web Use or Text Message?

I have the Samsung Behold for T-Mobile and I need to know if I were to use AIM on the phone...would it charge as texting or would it be internet?

(I have unlimited texting. I just don't have the internet service for the phone so I don't want to be charged for the internet if I don't have the plan)

    Thanks
Also, I got mixed messages about using the Email as well. People said it didn't charge as web use, but I just need a clarification. Yay or nay?
