How do I get my NEW 2x750GB SATA II Samsung HD753LJ HDs to work on my

ASUS A8V-NW MoBo with Windows XP (SP2)? I have never used SATA drives before. Things are NOT progressing as the ASUS supplied 'VIA VT8237 SATA RAID User Manual' says.

Both drives are connected and functioning. They DO show correctly as 750GB drives in the BIOS/Setup, and show as Master 3 and 4.

When I use my IDE drive to boot Windows XP (SP2), neither show up at all. I just did this as a check to see if it worked.

What I actually want to do is to use the two SATA drives ONLY, and in a RAID 1 array (i.e. with OS and all data copied to both). The manual says that as soon as I turn on the PC, I should get a screen saying 'VIA Serial ATA RAID BIOS Setting Utility v1.00' where I'm supposed to press 'Tab' ... This screen does not appear. I just get the usual screen where I can go into the regular BIOS/Setup. Pressing 'tab' has no effect.

Am I missing something here? Do I need to download the RAID BIOS because I can't find it on my mobo disks? Maybe I need to address the 'not showing in windows' issue first?

Help!
PLEASE READ THIS:

Sorry, I made a typo.

My motherboards is an ASUS A8V-VM SE.
