Thread: Help tethering samsung freeform or r350 with us cellular?

I need help on how to tether a samsung freeform/r351 with a windows xp computer. I would be using a usb cable and the freeform has unlimited mobile web On Us Cellular. I am in zip code 97818 if that makes a difference. Thanks!

To tether Phone

Go to the settings menu

press # in the settings menu
enter: 587846
Press # again
enter: 8886573982
choose user
Press up to go thru the menu until you reach DUN Enable
Change the number from 1 to 0
Press OK
Press and hold BACK
Select the bottom option, “DUN”. Check “ENABLE”.

Turning tether on and off
go to settings on the phone
choose PC Connection
set from USB to no connection for tether mode
Set from No connection to USB for data mode


*TO SET UP INTERNET DIAL-UP CONNECTION:

Go to Internet Explorer, Tools, and Internet Options.
Click Connections , then click Setup
Click Next, Connect to the Internet, And then Setup Connection Manually
Select Connect using dial-up modem and select your modem
Name of Connection, MetroPCS
Phone number is: #777
USERNAME: [your 10 digit cell phone number]@mymetropcs.net
PASSWORD: mymetropcs

After you Click Finish go back into your Internet Options, Connections tab, then select your new dial-up connection and click

Settings

Click Use a proxy server for this connection and enter for the ADDRESS: wap.metropcs.net PORT: 3128

To reset phone

Open the 'settings' menu
Select 'Security'
Enter the security code [last 4 digits of your cell number]

Select 'Reset Phone'
[phone will shut down and reset, restoring all factory settings but not deleting any files]
