Are Verizon's phones (U.S.) compatible with Rogers (Canada) contracts? ?

I currently have a contract with Rogers wireless (Canadian mobility provider). I'm looking to buy a verizon cell phone off ebay. I know that not all phones are compatible with all companies. Does anyone know if the verizon phone will work with my rogers contract? Do they use the same network?

Thanks! 10 points to the best answer!

No ! Rogers phones are not compatible with Verizon . Because, it is a cdma network . If you want to use other sim cards, you need to unlcok your phone from Rogers. To unlock your phone, use unlock code . You can get it from any of the online vendors like ProUnlocking.com to unlock it . After unlocking your phone, you can use other GSM carriers not with CDMA networks .
