Is the flatware made by Rogers Bros silver plated or sterling silver?

i don't know how to tell..i have a huge set of flatware made by 1847 Rogers Bros and don't know if it is worth anything. I have a feeling that it is silver plated. Any ideas?

just looked up "Rogers Brothers silver" and every item in the display said "silver plate". It wasn't cheap, though. I looked at Centennial Antiques site. They wanted $8.00 for one dinner fork! Check it out.
