Thread: why are ringtones so expensive?

i would have to pay three dollars a month for a ringtone! songs on itunes are only about a 1 dollar why can't ringtones be cheap? if you could pay for a ringtone just once for 3 dollars that would be a great deal!

Because there is a demand for ring tones other than the standard ones that come with cell phones. Cell phone companies can get away with it because either
-they lead you to believe that you have to buy ringtones to get new ones
-they actually block the features that allow you to use your own ringtones, basically forcing you to have to buy it from them if you want a different one
-people don't want to take the time to make their own ringtone
-people don't know how to make their own ring tone or find free ones

try phonezoo.com or myxer.com for FREE ringtones. i use myxer more bc if they dont have the tone/song you are looking for you can upload your own and make whatever part of the tone/song you want as the ringtone! all free so thats a huge +
