nokia 3500 classic with fido having problems with setting ringtones.?

i have a nokia 3500 classic with FIDO, and i m having problems because it does not let me set mp3 ringtones as it says "not allowed by activation key"
even though the phone does have feature of mp3 ringtones as i checked online. Please someone help me with this
