Will religion still exist in 10,000 years?
Provided we don't become extinct squabbling over whose invisible friend is the best, science will advance humanity massively in the coming years.
In 10,000 years time, we will have large colonies on the Moon as well as a newly terraformed Mars. Interstellar travel will most likely be a common occurrence, with new solar systems being explored and life-forms being discovered. Artificial Intelligence will be indistinguishable from the old-fashioned kind. Our medical knowledge will allow us to cure any decease and repair our bodies however we see fit. Immortality will be a choice, not a fantasy.
When we see first hand the vastness of space and the infinite variety of worlds that populate it. Will we still believe that something so complex could have been 'designed' by a being that actually 'thought' about what it was doing. Or will we laugh about our primitive ancestors and their old sky gods?
