What does this mean to you, if indeed you are in Christ?
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made you free, and be not tangled again with the yoke of bondage; Behold listen, I Paul say to you, that if you be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing; For I testify again to everyman that I circumcised, that you are a debtor to do the whole Law, Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever you are who are justified by the Law, you are fallen from grace ; And we through the Spirit, wait for the hope of righteousness by faith; For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which works by love" Galatians 5: 1-6
Do you not know that the body of Christ you have become dead to the Law? Romans 7: 4
If any man be in Christ he is a new creature, the old things are passed away, Behold all things are become new; and all things are of God" 2 Corinthians 5: 17.
No one who is in Christ has anything to do with the Law. They who are in Christ are dead to the law The law has nothing in the new creation of God. Two commandments are the ability of the man who is in Christ And that is to Love God and his neighbor, all the Law is contained in this, Love
First of all i believe that many who keep holy days and new moon and as Paul describes in Colossians 2: 16-18, as works or deeds to be justified in the sight of God, are in error, and fall from grace.
What people are not understanding is there is the law of righteosuenss, and the righteousness of the Law, if i seek the righteosuenss of the Law, when i find it, the Love of God will be staring me in the face.
But if i seek after the Law of righteosuenss, through works, i'm in error while being in the flesh and do not see Christ as the means to fulfilling the Law of righteousness.
Now the fact is that faith that works by Love, speaks first of all we have obtained the Love of God shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who is given to us, and that Love worked out faith, which is Christ bearing our sins, died in our place, buried and raised again, this the Love of God did Christ work out this faith that we believe and are saved
Therefore my answer is anyone trying to please God through the works of the Law, and not rather the works of faith, which were wrought, worked by Christ, is in error
Do we fulfill the the rightesouenss of the law with faith which works by Love? Yes
Do we seek to be justified by the works of the Law? No. The works of the Law speak of a priesthood and offerings for sin.
Okay, agnostic born with deviated urethra here. I had surgery when I was a toddler to correct it instead of pissing sideways for the rest of my life. And during this operation, they needed more skin from somewhere...
Yes I am now dead from the law but this laws I have fulfilled in one command,...Love your neighbor as you love yourself, this is found in Romans13;9 of the Bible.& in 13;10 it states,Love does no evil to a neighbor.Love is the fulfillment of the Law.IF you walk in love without doing evil to your neighbor you have become Righteous like Lord Jesus. My accepting Jesus the son of God & believing in His name gave me the right to become a son of God,John 1;12. & now that I am a son of God, I have taken off my sinful body which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lust, Ephesians 4:22. & now I have put on the new Body, Jesus, Which God created in True Righteousness and Holyness,Ephesians4:24. Remember this inEphesians 5:5 it tells us Gods children; that no immoral, or greedy person & with impure heart, has any inheritance to My Kingdom. 1cor6:9 you should know this the unrighteous cannot inherit My Kingdom. So my brothers & sisters in Jesus Body let us remain in this Body without dirth of sin.
It means that to belong to Christ you belong by grace and not by works. There is nothing that you did to earn it. Paul is warning the Galatians who are pushing to follow the Law again that they are being legalists and trying to earn salvation.
Truly understanding the Gospel leads to humbleness and not religious pride. For if you did not earn salvation, you are in no way better than anybody else. The second you have religious pride is when you start thinking yourself better than others which is contrary to what the bible teaches. Grace and peace to you.
From the time when Moses received the Ten Commandments from God on Mount Sinai which became the basis of Mosaic Law sometime between 1280-1240 B.C. until the year 30 A.D. the Jews lived under the Law.
When Jesus began preaching during 30-33 A.D. He preached a message of love which took the place of the Mosaic Law. If you followed Jesus' teachings to love God above all others and love your neighbor as you love yourself, the Law became unnessary.
Our faith in the saving power of the blood of Jesus is what saves us from our sins.
He was spat upon, mocked, whipped, beaten until he was almost unrecognizable. His brow held the marks of three inch thorns which had been braided into a makeshift "crown" and shoved forcefully on his head. He was nailed to a cross at his wrists and feet and was stabbed in the side with a sword.
During all this treatment he spoke no ill of those who persecuted him but rather asked God to "forgive them, for they know not what they do."
He was "silent as a lamb led to slaughter". He was silent because He knew that He was paying for my sin and yours. He did it willingly.
He said "It is finished" then He bowed His head and "gave up the ghost", or in other words, He died. No one killed Him. He died willingly.
He was buried in a borrowed tomb. After three days he arose and was seen numerous times by hundreds of people. He descended into the place of the dead and led believers who had died previously out, bringing them back to life also. He then ascended into heaven, where He currently sits at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for all believers.
The law was given only as a lesson, to show man that the law is impossible to follow. To show us that on our own we can never be good enough. Only by accepting the freely offered gift of salvation can we ever hope to be righteous enough for entrance into heaven. When we accept the gift of salvation we exchange our sin for his righteousness. Praise His Holy Name.
