Edit: For Cher; I was saying that I think that Zoroastrianism might be considered Gnostic. I wasn't saying that Judaism might be a type of Zoroastrianism(or visa versa).
BTW, Mandeanism is a Gnostic religion, & it only worships One God.
Absolutely not. Gnosticism believes in different levels of salvation, a whole range of deities, that matter is evil, God is blind and that you need special secret knowledge to get into heaven. Judaism doesn't believe in any of that.
If you read Gnostic history ... they believed not only in Christ and His teachings, but were also a "special witness" to the Holy Spirit/Divine ... the day of pentecost separated a lot of christians, and the power of the holy spirit with the gifts of the holy spirit is still the greatest controversy of the church, many divided over this one subject ... many believe that the day of pentecost was a one time deal, they forget Jesus said that He would send His comforter((the holy spirit)) ... there was a great split in Christianity then, the Gonosis going one way and the Christians who began the Spanish Inquisition went the other way ... Gnosis is Greek for "the act of knowing"
There a deep secrets held with the Gnostic faith, they are only secrets because in the day, they too were burned at the steak for heracy for believing in these secrets ((spiritual truths))
You will find we have come into an era for the Soul and the Soul's Enlightenment ... secrets of old are being divulged, from every religion or faith .... http://www.drsha.com
Christianity and Judaism are VASTLY apart from each other
JUDAISM
- says that no human can ever die for the sins of others
CHRISTIANITY
- says that Jesus died for the sins of mankind
JUDAISM
- says that all humans are born pure, and innocent
CHRISTIANITY
- some say that all humans are born with 'original sin'.
JUDAISM
- says that G-d would never allow/enable a 'virgin birth'
CHRISTIANITY
- says that Mary gave birth, though a virgin
JUDAISM
- says that no man gets a 'second coming'
CHRISTIANITY
- says that Jesus will have a 'second coming'
JUDAISM
- says that every human should speak directly to G-d
CHRISTIANITY
- Jesus claims in the 'new testament' that the 'only way' to G-d is via him
JUDAISM
- says G-d is one, indivisible, cannot be separated into three aspects/incarnations
CHRISTIANITY
- some sects speaks of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
JUDAISM
- says that we are ALL equally G-d's children
CHRISTIANITY
- says that Jesus was 'god's son' above all others
JUDAISM
- has no concept of 'hell'
CHRISTIANITY
- *some* Christians believe non-believers go to 'hell'
JUDAISM
- has no 'devil', the Jewish 'Satan' is just an ordinary angel, under G-d's control
CHRISTIANITY
- describes 'Satan' as a devil and 'fallen' angel
JUDAISM
- the 'messiah' will be a normal, mortal man who must fulfill all the Jewish messianic prophecies in one normal, mortal lifetime
CHRISTIANITY
- Jesus was the 'messiah' and will fulfill the prophecies when he 'returns'
JUDAISM
- says that the righteous of ALL faiths will reach 'gan eden' or 'garden of eden'.
CHRISTIANITY
- some Christians insist that only those who 'know Christ' can reach heaven
JUDAISM
- forbids Jews from trying to convert anyone to Judaism
CHRISTIANITY
- believes in actively 'witnessing' and encouraging people to convert to Christianity
JUDAISM
- no concept of original sin
CHRISTIANITY
- some sects of Christianity believe in “original sin” to justify the need for a savior. Others believe that humankind cannot keep from sinning and requires a savior to cleanse them.

Judaism isn't Christianity without the Christ concepts. It's a very different religion in many ways.
Consider this - Judaism existed long before Christianity. Along comes Christianity & Judaism becomes it minus something? Christianity borrowed from all sorts of religious ideas to come together.
Judaism is focused on THIS world, not the next. The messiah is not a central concept. If you removed it from Judaism, you would still have Judaism left. If you remove it from Christianity you'd not have Chrisitanity. Judaism is about connecting to God in this life, through actions & moralities as outlined in Torah, which in turn connects you to your better more elevated self. It's about repairing the world through our immediate actions to everything and beyond.

If Grayure
is describing gnostisim accurately, then Judaism is none of that. For instance, one central Jewish tenent is that God is one, evil is not a separate entity.
Zoastrasism
was developed after Judaism, so no Judaism is not from it.
Clusium - I see. On one God - the idea of matter as evil was what I addressed?
