Since everyone calls me a cult member. In both the lutheran and catholic mass, every single word said is already written down for you. Everything from repeating the phrases after the pastor says a set phrase. All you have to do is follow all the phrases and actions and through out the entire worship and then your done. week after week.

How is this not cult like but mormons are.
plus, none of the phrases in the service were ever given by Christ except for the sacrament or eucrurist.
i would agree that all religions can be a cult, but the behavior is much more set in other churches compared to my own.
in the mormon church, we only have 2 sentences that are pre-written. Compared to 30 phrases and actions in a typical christian church.

Because Catholics are two large and old, and the Lutherans two similar (I presume) to be called a cult without people seeming petty and getting attacked by a lot of people. Mormons, on the other hand are 'unconventional' Christians, and were started by one man, hence people feel valid in calling it a cult, and there will be a smaller defence.

Let me guess:

1. You're religious.
2. You think cults are bad.
3. You don't think you're in a cult.

What a shock.

The only difference between a religion and a cult is social acceptance.
