Would it have been a better use of time for all the people complaining...

...about the size of the Health Care Bills? . . . if they had actually read the bill instead of making guesses and assumptions about what is in it? And yes, I am talking about each and every member of Congress who toted the bill around, measured it, counted the pages, and used the number of pages as a centerpiece of a speech, either in session or to the general public.
Buying is Voting: Actually, the answer to all of those questions is "yes".

It's not the size I complain about. It's the bill's entire premise.

Does it open insurance to interstate competition?

    Does it propose tort reform?

Does it promote investment in technologies which make medical services cheaper?

The answer to all these questions is no, and so I am positive that it will reduce no long-term costs, and instead only increase government's unfunded liabilities.

That's what their assistants are for. They have multiple ones, who specialize in different areas that advise them on each bill.

No one person can be an expert in everything, and vote accordingly.

Nancy Pelosi herself said yesterday that "we have to pass the bill so people can see what is in it."

They found out what was in it alright and they certainly didn't like it. Hiding bad legislation in hundreds of pages is far easier to do than in a dozen or so. No piece of legislation should be that large in the first place especially being from only one of the political parties.
