...this holiday!? Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid today blasted Republicans who complained about Reid's suggestion to extend this month's lame-duck session through the holiday season, reminding them that regular Americans don't get two weeks of vacation.

"Some of my Republican colleagues have the nerve to whine about having to stay and actually do the work the American people pay us to do," Reid said on the Senate floor Wednesday following public complaints from Sens. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) and Jim DeMint (R-S.C.).

"Most people don't get two weeks off at any time, let alone on Christmas week," Reid said, adding that it's offensive to him and many Americans to suggest it's "sacrilegious" or "disrespectful" to work during the holidays.
