Why is it when teenagers act out or get serious in a relationship parents

always scream "hormones"? It's like they don't believe that teens are capable of true thought as to why they're doing what they're doing, or saying what they're feeling. Like they think that teenagers can't love someone because they're younger. I believe that while it's rare for a teen to be 'in love', it's very much possible but often not the real thing.

Can someone clear this up for me?

For the most part, parents don't want you to make a mistake that they have made or seen made when they were your age. What you have to do, is prove them wrong and be mature about it and show them that whatever the situation is that you are in control of it. If they see that you can handle whatever the situation may be, then they will most likely lighten up.

Because they do remember what it was like to be a teenager. Age doesn't necessarily make you smarter or wiser, but it DOES give you perspective. And the person you were as a teen, and the people you loved or "loved" are completely different from the people you do as someone over 30 or 40. You do change as you age, no matter what anyone else tells you.
